Becoming a mom felt like stepping into a leading role, the role of a lifetime, without being given a script. Sure, I bought all the things the baby industry told me to get and prepared for labor, reading books and taking classes. I didn’t look too far beyond that. I bought into the notion that we have been raising children since the beginning of humanity. It would all come natural, right? Looking back, this, to me, is wild.
Maybe you cannot perfectly prepare for becoming a parent. Every child, career, and relationship is very different and you cannot fully assess the impact until living it. However, I believe you can lay out the framework of what you want your life as a parent and professional to look like, making adjustments along the way, incorporating new realities. I also realized that the skills you gain as a parent are invaluable and can contribute to professional success, if recognized. Even though this was hard for me to imagine during all the sleepless nights in the early years, it was easy to see once I finally came up for air. This is what inspired me to launch Oletta.
In addition to being a certified coach, I have over a decade of experience as a consultant in professional services, specializing in HR M&A, executive compensation, and global employment tax. I began my career in the Netherlands and moved across the Atlantic for love. I will forever cherish the years we spent in NYC, the city where dreams are made of. I now live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with my family.
I am a licensed attorney in New York, have earned my coach certification with the Co-Active Training Institute (CPCC), and hold accreditation with the International Coaching Federation (ACC).
Our daughter and son continue to be my biggest inspiration.
When I am not focused on coaching, consulting, or parenting, you might find me at the Pure Barre studio, singing karaoke, eating dessert, or traveling (I do travel with my kids, but let’s be real, that is just called parenting on location).
I would love to connect with you through LinkedIn.
